The Bible teaches that with temptation; God
always makes a way of escape... “There hath no temptation taken you but such as
is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted
above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape,
that ye may be able to bear it” (1st Corinthians 10:13). No one has an excuse
to sin. We all experience the same types of temptations throughout life. The
Bible teaches that we always have a choice, to do right or wrong.
Thankfully, there is help available from the
Lord Jesus Himself, Who was also tempted. Hebrews 2:18, “For in that he himself
hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.” The
Greek word for “succour” in Hebrews 2:18 is boetheo meaning “to aid or
relieve.” Literally, it means to help. Jesus fully understands the overwhelming
power of temptation. If we submit ourselves unto God and resist the Devil as
the Bible teaches in James 4:7, he will flee from us. Temptations will come and
go; but Jesus Christ is “the same yesterday, and today, and for ever” (Hebrews
13:8).
James 1:12-14 clearly states... “Blessed is the
man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown
of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say
when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil,
neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of
his own lust, and enticed.” We learn three divine truths from this passage of
Scripture:
Our love for Jesus should
cause us to want to live right, i.e., keep His commands.
God never tempts anyone to
do wrong.
We sin because we want to by
yielding to our own lusts.
Jesus said in John 14:15, “If ye love me, keep
my commandments.” James 1:12 plainly states that those who love the Lord will
make an attempt to live a righteous life in the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus
Christ doesn't want to help us live right; He wants to live the Christian life
through us if we'll simply yield to the Holy Spirit. We cannot go it alone and
make it spiritually. Those who fail to pray and read their Bible are saying to
God: “I can make it on my own.” Oh, listen my friend, no one can make it on
their own without God. You need the Spirit of Christ to guide you (John 16:13),
teach you (John 14:26), and comfort you (John 16:7; 14:18). Praise God! The
Holy Spirit is the Godhead living within (indwelling) the body of every
believer. Romans 8:9 says that if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is
unsaved.
NO ONE can live above sin. Listen
to what the great Apostle Paul said concerning his own sins:
Romans 7:18-24, “For I know that in me (that
is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but
how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do
not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not,
it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law,
that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law
of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against
the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is
in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of
this death?”
Paul admitted that sometimes he did evil; even
as a saved, born-again, believer! But carefully notice that it grieved Paul,
because the Holy Spirit convicted him, and Paul DIDN'T want to sin. This is in
sharp contrast to the unsaved world who rejects Jesus Christ and couldn't care
less about doing what's pleasing to God. On my website ministry, I don't
condemn people for their sins, God forbid; but rather, I preach against the
wicked who parade their sins up and down America's streets, and teach our children
that it's okay to break God's Laws, and despise the righteousness of God (Psalm
94:16).
Every Believer Struggles
with Sin
Paul tried to live right, but at times utterly
failed, just as ALL believers do. Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven
times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” Please
note that there are two separate Hebrew words used for “fall” in Proverb 24:16.
The first “falleth” literally means “to trip, or stumble.” This is the believer
who attempts to please God by living a holy life, but fails, and tries again,
but fails, and tries again, but fails, and so forth. This is pleasing to the
Lord; not that we fail, but that we keep getting back up and trying again with
His help. As long as we are living in this selfish and carnal flesh, we will
endure the constant spiritual struggle between our sin-nature and the Spirit of
Christ which indwells every believer (Romans 8:9).
“God will still use you; I
don't care what you've done
The second word “fall” means “to quit, or walk
away.” This is the man or woman who deliberately commits sin, trying to justify
their wickedness. This is the wife who files for divorce. She quit, i.e., she's
not even trying to live for God anymore. Seeking greener pastures is what the
heathen world does. The Bible tells us to hang in there doing right for God
(Galatians 6:9).
The Bible is an authoritative Book written by
an authoritative God; and the fathers, husbands, and preachers who live by it
will be authoritative. The wicked world hates God's authority, and any
authority ordained of God.
It's important that you don't become
discouraged when you do sin. Proverbs 24:16, “For a just man falleth seven
times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.” A wicked
person doesn't even try to live right, they don't care about pleasing God. When
a Christian falls, the whole world is waiting to condemn them. The world
receives their own (John 15:19).
I thank God for the precious blood of Jesus
Christ that cleanseth my sins away (1st John 1:7). When you fall, and you will,
get back up for God my friend.
“The Devil will make you guilty about your
past... You're not worthy to serve God, but neither is anybody else worthy to
serve God, and so God's gotta have unworthy people serving Him
A very important truth for us to understand is
that we, as believers, cannot live the Christian life in our own strength.
Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I,
but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by
the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” I love that,
Scripture! Jesus lives in and through me as God's child, in the form of the
Holy Spirit. In Romans 8:9, the Holy Spirit is called the “Spirit of Christ.”
Amen!
All we have to do (as Christians) is saturate
our mind and heart with the inspired Word of God (King James Bible), and yield
to it. 2nd Corinthians 10:5, “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing
that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity
every thought to the obedience of Christ.” That's not mind-control, that's
voluntarily yielding to the Holy Spirit in obedience to God's Word. Unlike
satanic Hollywood and the occult music industry, who continually manipulate the
human mind to deceptively control people; God is brutally honest and nothing is
done in secret. John 18:20, “Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I
ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always
resort; and in secret have I said nothing.” The world would rather trust sneaky
Freemasons and Satan who deceive them, than to trust an honest and dear Savior.
The Bible Will Keep Us from
Sin, or Sin Will Keep Us from the Bible
Psalm 119:11 states, “Thy word have I hid in
mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” King David said he had
memorized God's Word, i.e., hid the Bible in his heart, to help him gain
victory over sin in his personal life. Hebrews 4:12 reads, “For the word of God
is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to
the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a
discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” What a powerful Book! No
Christian magazine, book, nor daily devotional can compare to the power of
God's Word!
No wonder David said in Psalm 1:1-2, “Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the
way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in
the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditates day and night.” David had
learned a painful lesson from the horrible sins he had committed (adultery and
murder). David's own family turned against him. David's kingdom fell into ruin.
David's sons were killed. Bath Sheba's child died. David's name became mud. As
an old man, broken and tired, he writes the Psalms. David now realizes that it
is God whom he has sinned against, because he had broken all of the Ten
Commandments. We have all broken the Ten Commandments, whether in heart or by
deed. God's Law will keep us from sin, if we fear God enough to obey Him.
God Will Hold Believers
Accountable for the Good and Bad Done in Our Body
Listen to what king David said in Psalm 6:1, “O
LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure.”
God is longsuffering and slow to anger, but once God gets angry... LOOK OUT!
Psalm 7:11 warns that God is angry with the wicked every day. As a holy God, He
hates sin with a passion, and won't dismiss anyone's frivolous attitude about
sin.
1st Corinthians 11:31 states, “For if we would
judge ourselves, we should not be judged.” If we DON'T judge ourselves, then we
WILL BE JUDGED! Judging ourselves means dealing with the problem before God has
to deal with it. 2nd Corinthians 5:10 WARNS, “For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his
body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” Romans 14:12
states that every person will be held accountable by God on Judgment Day. We
would be wise to live for God now as believers, confessing and forsaking our
sins today, rather than face the judgment of an angry God tomorrow because of
our arrogant pride disobedience.
Jesus said in John 14:26, “But the Comforter,
which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach
you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have
said unto you.” As we memorize the Scriptures, the Holy Spirit will remind us
of them when we need them. This is one way that the Lord helps us when we are
temped (as Hebrews 2:18 promises). As you SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES (John 5:39),
and a Bible passage burns your heart, memorize It. By the way, I've NEVER met one
believer who could quote multiple Scriptures from any modern corrupted Bibles;
BUT I have known many Christians who could quote hundreds of Scriptures from
the preserved, inspired, inerrant, infallible, precious, King James Bible.
God Chastises His
Disobedient Children Because They are Saved
Hebrews 12:6-8 teaches that God scourges
(beats) and chastises (disciplines) His children when they are disobedient. There
are many believers living in gross sin. And for that matter, all believers
still commit sin. All sin is gross in God's sight.
The inspired King James Bible teaches that
eternal life is a free gift (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-10), paid for in full
by the precious blood of Jesus Christ (1st Peter 1:18-19). Jesus doesn't
forgive sin. That is correct! Jesus has already paid for everyone's sins with
His blood. Therefore, forgiveness of sins is a gift, that we simply receive by
faith.
The fact that God chastises
disobedient children, evidences that they are saved.
Once saved, always saved. Salvation can NEVER
be lost, forfeited or given back. It is impossible be lose eternal life once
you have it. If salvation could be lost, certainly sinful Lot would have lost
it. Samson would have lost it. David would have lost it. Solomon would have
lost it. Demas would have lost it. peter would have lost it. Ananias and
Sapphira would have lost it. The sinful man in 1st Corinthians 5:1-5 would have
lost it. And for that matter, the entire sinful church at Corinth would have lost
it! If saved, always saved!!!
Give Me the Old, Time
Proven, Trustworthy, Inspired & Preserved, King James Bible!
I guarantee you that the only Hell, fire and
brimstone preachers left in America today are those men of God who still uphold
the inspired King James Bible. The new Bibles are for New Evangelicalism, which
is just plain old sinful compromise. Neo (or new) evangelicals don't go
publicly soul-winning, door-to-door as the Bible teaches in Acts 20:22 (the
believer's 20/20 vision).
Most churches today operate like demonic cults,
meeting behind closed doors and then rushing to MacDonald's after church to
gossip about each other. The New Testament Church in the book of Acts went out
into the highways and hedges, compelling people to get saved. Everywhere that
the early Christians went, either revival or riot broke out. They were
persecuted, prosecuted, and many martyred for their preaching of the Gospel.
People criticize the King James Bible, when
they should leave it alone. God promised to preserve his Words unto every
generation (Psalm 12:6-8). Either we have God's Word or we don't. Do you
believe God or not? I believe that the King James Bible is God's preserved Word
in the English language for today. God knew in His foreknowledge that the English-speaking
language would be the universal language of the end times. Every nation in the
world is now teaching English to their children. God gave us the inspired and
preserved King James 1611 Bible for all the world.
There will never be another translation of the
Bible into English. Modern English makes such an undertaking IMPOSSIBLE, and
today's agendacized homosexual society makes it IMPROBABLE. The NIV 2011 just
came out, removing the words “man” and “men” in literally
thousands-upon-thousands of places. All modern bibles attack Christ's deity,
the Godhead, the Pretribulation Rapture, Christ's sinless perfection, the
literal blood sacrifice of Christ, and many other important doctrines of the
Christian faith.
To Overcome Temptation and
Sin, Saturate Your Life with the Word of God
Psalms 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine
heart, that I might not sin against thee.” Psalms 119:9, “Wherewithal shall a
young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.”
If you want to gain victory in your life over
sin, then you need to start hiding the Word of God in your heart (i.e., your
sub-consciousness) by memorizing the Scriptures. USE ONLY THE PRECIOUS, KING
JAMES BIBLE!!! All modern Bible revisions have been corrupted by Satan!!! Do a
Bible study on your particular area of weakness, and then memorize several
Scriptures to help you when temptations arise. For example: If you have a
problem with sexual lust, you should memorize 1st Peter 2:11,
“Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and
pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.” 1st John
2:15-17 would apply to many sins and should be memorized by EVERY believer,
“Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves
the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world,
the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not
of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust
thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
These Scriptures should be on our minds
continually. Literally, our minds should be SATURATED with the Scriptures. The
Word of God should be joy to our souls. King David said that the Words of the
Lord were sweeter than honey to his mouth (Psalm 119:103). Do you find the
Bible more refreshing that a box of Dunkin Doughnuts? Sadly, most people would
gladly rather have a box of donuts over God's Word. What will today's burdens
and temptations matter 100-years from now? All that will matter when we leave
this world, as believers, is what did we do for Jesus' sake and the Gospel's
(Mark 10:29-30).
Of course, if you are unsaved, nothing else
will matter until you receive Jesus Christ as your personal Savior. Sin has
alienated mankind from God, and there is no hope for humanity apart from the
cross of Jesus Christ. You are a GUILTY sinner, on your way to everlasting
Hell, fire and torment in your sins. You need to have your sins forgiven, and
only Jesus Christ Who has the nail-scared hands and feet can forgive you. Ye
Must Be Born Again!
To Live a Victorious
Christian Life, Listen to Lots of Bible-Believing Preaching
When we listen to preaching, we are walking
with wise men. Proverbs 13:20, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:
but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” Turn that stupid radio off and
start listening to some preaching that will help you. It's amazing how most
people will listen to the same old songs, that have been around for decades,
thousands of times, and not one of those songs will make you a better
Christian. Think about that! Do you have enough character to listen to
preaching? You have to want the truth and wisdom; it won't come to you. Ask God
to give you wisdom!
You're not a success in life unless God says
you're a success. Ecclesiastes 12:13, “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole
matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of
man.”
Deliverance Through Prayer
Luke 22:40 states, “And when he was at the
place, he said unto them, pray that ye enter not into temptation.” In addition
to hiding God's Word in our heart, we need to pray continually. 1st
Thessalonians 5:17 states, “Pray without ceasing.” Obviously, this means that
we can pray while working, walking, driving, etc. We ought to be in constant
fellowship with our God.
Prayer is from within our heart, not a recital.
We ought to pray continually. Philippians 4:6, “Be careful [stressed, anxious]
for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let
your requests be made known unto God.” “Supplications” are things on our prayer
list (i.e., a petition) that we keep asking God for. Prayer is asking. That's
what prayer is. Praise is praise. Worship is worship. But prayer is letting our
requests be made known unto God (Philippians 4:6-7).
We should ask God for His help in every area of
our life on a daily basis; but then there are certain matters which we will
need to pray about for weeks, months, or even years. Jesus taught His disciples
that prayer was a means to avoid temptation. It is very interesting that Jesus
never taught His disciples how to preach, but He did teach them how to pray.
Prayer is not a “therapy”. Prayer is expecting a miracle from a miraculous
omnipotent (all-powerful) divine God. We hear much talk these days on
television and radio, and in books and magazines, about spiritual matters and
mention of God; but they are a bunch of Modernists (an unsaved person who
appears as a Christian) and unsaved scholars and “experts” who deny the POWER
OF GOD (2nd Timothy 3:5).
Do you have a prayer life? It doesn't have to
be a prayer closet. Your car can become a prayer closet. Where do you meet God
every day? Do you pray at all? Prayerlessness is akin to the sin of atheism,
for a prayerless Christian prays no more than an unbelieving atheist. So sad!
I cringe every time I see the President of the
U.S. recite a prayer off a piece of paper (which he didn't even write). All of
the various President's public speeches for the past few decades have been
prewritten by a specialist in propaganda and public speaking. Even the
President's prayers are written for him. It's not from his heart. How can it be
when his speech-writer prepared it for him? Doesn't the President have a place
in his heart for God? Does his staff have to write his prayers too? Yes, evidently
so! This is apostasy and a stench unto God. The President's prayer recitals are
nothing more than deceitful political propaganda designed to hoodwink
conservatives into believing that their President trusts in God.
Not surprising, EVERY Republican President
since Roe vs. Wade has given billions-of-dollars to fund abortion. Yet, the
candidates will claim they are against abortion, and the gullible religious
right votes for them and supports their wickedness. If our nation's leaders
genuinely trusted in God, they would insist on praying from their hearts, and
not read from a piece of paper which someone else wrote for them.
Jesus said that prayer would keep us from
temptation. There is NO secret to overcoming sin in one's personal life. We
either love the Lord enough to obey Him or we don't, it's as simple as that. If
we love the Lord, then we will study God's Word, and memorize passages to help
us. If we love the Lord, then we will pray and walk with God in our daily life.
Every believer should take time to walk with God. Have a designated place where
you meet with God each day. It may be at your desk, or your coffee table, or in
your car on the way to work.
Take time frequently to be alone in nature with
your Creator. God gave us nature to remind us of His Godhead, goodness, and
power (Psalm 19:1-3; Romans 1:20). We need to take time out, to escape the
concrete jungle of the city, and get alone with God in nature. Mark 6:46
states, “And when he [Jesus] had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to
pray.” Jesus is our example. If our Lord went alone into nature to pray, then
we need to find a place every day, even if just in our backyard, where we can
seek God. Most people are too busy to fellowship with their Creator, choked by
the cares, riches, and pleasures of this short life here on earth (Luke 8:13).
How ungrateful.
The Power of HIS MIGHT
Ephesians 6:10-12 reads, “Finally, my brethren,
be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour
of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we
wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against
powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual
wickedness in high places.” We cannot gain victory over sin by ourselves; we
need God's power. This is exactly what Ephesians 6:10 states, “...be strong in
the Lord, and in the power of his might.” We are foolish if we attempt to live
the Christian life in our own strength, and we will utterly fail. The Bible
tells us to be strong IN THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT.
This is why the Apostle Paul could say in 2nd
Corinthians 12:9-10, “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for
my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather
glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore,
I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions,
in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.”
God's Final Call
Someday you'll hear God's Final Call to you
To take his offer of salvation true-
This could be it my friend if you but knew-
God's Final Call, God's Final Call
How can you live another day in sin,
Thinking some day with Christ you will begin?
O will you hear above the world's loud din-
God's Final Call, God's Final Call
If you reject God's Final Call of grace,
You'll have no chance your footsteps to
retrace-
All hope will then be gone and doom you'll
face.
O hear his call! God's Final Call
Romans 10:13, "For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
The Blood of the Lamb
I can't tell you how many times the Holy Spirit
has comforted me with the Words of Hebrews 4:15-16, “For we have not a high
priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in
all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come
boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to
help in time of need.” What a wonderful PROMISE from God! The throne of grace
is mine to approach for help, because of the precious blood of Jesus! What was
forbidden to all Old Testament saints except the high priest, i.e., entering
into the holy of holies, is freely available to us today through Christ's
blood. Yet, so many of us neglect and take for granted our privilege as
born-again believers to God's throne of grace. We are so undeserving. Thank God
for the literal blood of Jesus that gives us the victory over sin if we want
it.
